Kansas University history, was signed to an undisclosed contract by the
Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.
Collins, who was not selected during the 2010 NBA Draft, played for
Charlotte's summer league team and averaged 12.5 points and 2.8 assists in
four games.
In four years at Kansas, the 5-foot-11 point guard led the Jayhawks to 130
victories, including the 2008 national title. He finished fifth all-time in
scoring (1,888 points) and seventh in assists (552) at the perennial
powerhouse.

JUPITER, Fla. -- The Foorida Marlins are preparing for the likelihood that right-hander
Josh Johnson won't be ready when the season starts April 2.
Grapefruit League action starts Wednesday, but Johnson, penciled in as the No. 2 starter, hasn't even thrown off a mound at full speed since September. He's experienced some soreness in his right forearm.

With Johnson's status doubtful, Gonzalez said right-hander Ricky Nolasco will stay in the rotation and no longer will be considered a candidate for closer.
