After a scoreless first quarter, the Cardinals took the lead on a 27-yard touchdown catch by Stephen Williams from Anderson for a 7-0 lead. It was 14-0 in the third quarter after Steve Breaston hauled in a 13-yard touchdown pass from Leinart. Chicago finally got on the board in the fourth when Robbie Gould connected on a field goal from 22 yards out to make it a 14-3 game. Juaquin Iglesias caught a third-yard touchdown pass from LeFevour later in the fourth and it was a 14-9 game after the two-point conversion attempt fell short.

The Cardinals, with the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance hanging in the balance, mounted a fourteen play, 72 yard touchdown drive that consumed 7:52 off the clock.
