The Buckeyes have taken three of the four meetings, including a 27-10 decision in the 1976 Orange Bowl. "Colorado has always recognized the significance of playing marquee opponents in the non-conference portion of our football schedule," noted CU athletic director Mike Bohn. "This is a tremendous opportunity on the national platform to schedule a game with Ohio State, which has been one of the nation's premier programs and whom we have a lot of respect for." Colorado finished 2009 with a 3-9 record, including a fifth-place standing in the Big 12 North at 2-6. Ohio State, on the other hand, ended the year at 11-2, won the Big Ten title and took a 26-17 result over Oregon in the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes' 2011 non- conference slate will also include Akron, Toledo and Miami-Florida. The OSU-Colorado matchup is scheduled for September 24, 2011.
