After a scoreless second period, Anaheim broke through when Moen hung tough and followed up his own initial shot with a turnaround chance from the right circle that trickled past Joseph at 7:33 of the third. On the goal, Phoenix defenseman Travis Roche was sent off for interfering with Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin in front of the Coyotes' net, and on the ensuing power play just 82 seconds later, McDonald blew a shot through traffic for the game-winner and a 2-1 Anaheim advantage. The Ducks controlled the rink thereafter, closing down any passing and shooting lanes for the Coyotes, and outshooting them 16-4 over the final 20 minutes. After several point-blank chances throughout the opening period were turned aside by Giguere, Sjostrom finally broke through at 17:01, scoring on a partial breakaway from a lead pass by fellow backliner Keith Ballard for a 1-0 Phoenix lead. It would be the only goal of the contest until Anaheim's third-period burst. Game Notes Anaheim has won 11 of the last 13 meetings dating back to the start of last season...Joseph has lost three of his last four starts and is 12-17-0 on the season...The Ducks scored the game's only power-play goal on three chances, and the Coyotes came up empty in three attempts...Phoenix hosts Nashville on Thursday, while Anaheim travels to Nashville on Saturday.
