Montana adds four transfers

07/15/2010 - Missoula, MT (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Head coach Robin Pflugrad of the University of Montana Grizzlies has announced the addition of four transfers to the roster this season.

The players are Andrew Badger, Tyrone Duncan, Houston Roots and Antwon Moutra.

Badger, a junior college player from the College of Sequoias, was a two-year starter with the program. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound strong safety started all 11 games last season, totaling 50 tackles, 20 pass breakups, five tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles and an interception. He will a be a junior at Montana this season.

Tyrone Duncan, a transfer from the University of Washington, will be a junior at UM this season. The 6-2, 300-pound defensive tackle played in 12 games for the Huskies and earned two letters during his time there.

Houston Roots, a 5-10, 185-pound cornerback, had 59 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, 10 pass deflections, five sacks and two interceptions for junior college program Sierra College last year. He was named the defensive MVP of the Premier West Bank Bowl game versus Butte College (Calif.). He will be a junior at Montana.

Antwon Moutra played in 10 games as a true freshman for UCLA in 2008. The 6-2, 188-pound wide reciever was a two-year letterman for the Bruins. He will be a junior at UM.

Pflugrad said that he hopes to add one or two more players to his 2010 roster in the coming weeks.

Reportedly, he is in great shape and well ahead of schedule to return to form. Also, he could have some added motivation to put up big numbers this season with the Eagles using their first pick in the draft on McNabb’s future successor Kevin Kolb.
