Lakers finish road trip in Cleveland Wed Feb 16 11:10:46 2011 EST
(Sports Network) - Legendary coach Phil Jackson said his team's recent loss in Charlotte was embarrassing. Maybe tonight he'll feel a bit better. The Los Angeles Lakers haven't played like two-time defending champions and will try to polish off a seven-game road trip on a more uplifting note in Cleveland. Jackson's squad won the first four games off the Grammy Awards trip before losing back-to-back contests in Orlando and Charlotte. In Monday's 109-89 setback to the Bobcats at Time Warner Cable

The Bobcats have won two in a row and three of five games, including an impressive 109-89 drubbing of the two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night. Gerald Wallace had 20 points and 11 assists for his fifth double-double in eight games, Gerald Henderson netted 18 points off the bench and Boris Diaw posted 16 for Charlotte, which improved to 8-5 all-time against the Lake

``It felt good just to get back on the court and to be out there playing with the guys,'' said Bass, who had missed the previous six games with a sprained left ankle before playing in the 89-75 win against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The ovation was a fleeting few seconds in a game that featured far more exciting moments. But for a player that has gone from after thought to being a key cog in the Magic's hopes of reaching the NBA finals, it's appreciation he's longed

Lakers seek redemption in Charlotte Mon Feb 14 10:53:45 2011 EST
(Sports Network) - The two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers had trouble shooting and rebounding the last time out, and hope to put that behind them tonight in the continuation of a seven-game road trip in Charlotte. The Lakers don't have much time to dwell on Sunday's 89-75 loss at Orlando in which they made 39 percent from the field, including a horrid 2-for-16 clip from beyond the three-point line. LA was also beaten on the glass, 46-34, and managed just 34 points in the second

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Magic coach Stan Van Gundy says forward Brandon Bass won't start but is expected to play against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Magic's frontcourt has been thin since Bass sprained his left ankle in Orlando's 100-97 loss at Memphis on Jan. 31. He has missed the past six games. Orlando has gone 3-3 without him.

Van Gundy didn't anticipate getting Bass back until after the All-Star break, but said Sunday he had healed quicker than expected.

Bass said he ``felt pretty goo
